Making Home

And so it begins.

Just Chillin’

bathtoysNot much is happening in the Stajdanley (Stajda + Stanley) household this week. The daily routine seems to involve Clara and I waking a little later than usual, breakfast, sitting around in our pajamas until about 9:00, the usual bath/shower/dress routine, then drawing and playing with toys until Dad gets home from work.

Nearly every day I lose track of time, and don’t realize it’s 5:00 until I hear Jeremie backing into the driveway in his work truck. Beep beep beep.

I would love to be working, but a recent job prospect quickly fizzled due to data and server issues. So I am now a lazy and aimless woman.

I guess I should get off my rear and start looking for some new work, but first I’ll take advantage of the downtime and keep playing with Clara.

The First Post.

Clara and Me.

Welcome to my new personal blog, Making Home. I’m both hesitant and excited to get this thing going. I’m hesitant because I’ve always been a bit afraid of sharing my personal life via the internet, for all to read. There are some pretty creepy people out there, you know. But I’m also excited because I really really need a place to share my thoughts.

Life seems to be pretty full these days, and I often feel a bit overwhelmed. I suspect that keeping this blog will help to alleviate some stress, and allow catharsis.

So what’s making me feel overwhelmed these days? Alot. I’ll go ahead and lay it out in list form:

- My little girl is 20 months old, yet currently living out the “terrible twos”. The emotional and physical turmoil has begun, and I’m often at my wits’ end.

- I’m ready for a big change in life, meaning I’m ready to move. I live in Durham, NC but would like to be in Philadelphia, PA. We’re first time homeowners who are missing the freedom of renting.

- I turned 30 this past April and to sum it up, I feel older than old.

- Being a full time at-home mom, I’m becoming bored. I often think about returning to college, snatching up a bright and shiny career, and claiming my stake in the web design industry.

Nothing too bad, all things that can be sorted out with time. But they weigh heavily on my mind daily, hence this blog.

It would be a super bonus if by chance folks could relate, would offer their own take on things, share their experiences, and chat it up with me. Super bonus.
